Kerry Ryan is an actor, puppeteer, dancer, and physical comedian based in Portland, Oregon. Kerry has worked with many companies in Portland, including Theatre Vertigo (of which she is a company member), Artists Repertory Theatre, Portland Center Stage, Oregon Children's Theatre, Imago Theatre, CITE, Tears of Joy Puppet Theatre, and the Anonymous Theatre Company (of which she is a member and co-founder). Look for Kerry's debut in Seattle this winter as Smereldina in The Servant of Two Masters with the Seattle Shakespeare Company. Favorite roles include Cordelia and the Fool in King Lear (Brown University, Class of 2002), Gail in Escape from Happiness (Theatre Vertigo), Nurse Cherry in Mister Murdery (The Cardboard Box Theatre Company), the Mouse in If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (Oregon Children's Theatre), and Heath in Pony (JAW Festival at Portland Center Stage). Kerry recently won a Drammy for Outstanding Achievement in Puppetry for her work in Theatre Vertigo's spring 2008 production of The Long Christmas Ride Home, and plays the role of Banya (both puppet and voice) in Thought Bubble Production's ongoing video series for children with autism (Playtime with Zeebu). Kerry lives in a big house with her husband Sam, three roommates, a cat, and a puppy. Her favorite food is chocolate cake. |
